Hi, I'm Beatriz
I work as a project manager, I'm a parent, and I’m an expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually grew into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn’t in the master plan. As with numerous expatriate relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were overwhelming — unfamiliar processes, schedules, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built BroadGroveTone
Most information online came from corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- A travel authority resource
- Paid-review platform
- A generic travel diary
Moving Forward
Our stay in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we come across.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Beatriz
